Our laminate is what sets us apart from all the competition. Our laminate is composed of four layers.
First layer is the melamine backer which provides stability to the board. You will see, with a lot of our completion, that other laminates have a soft back or paper back which is not ideal for durability.
Second is our composite core which is manufactured with resin pockets to help our laminate perform even better. These resin pockets help repel moisture and will keep the boards from swelling as well as fight off extreme temperature change.
Third is the photo layer using high-definition printing, where we provide 30 different wood images in our flooring as opposed to the industry standards of 10-15 images. The recreation of genuine hardwood will be our little secret when family and friends come to visit.
Last is our top coat that really creates exceptional value and is what sets Empire Today apart from anyone in the hard surface industry. Your laminate was coated with multiple layers of aluminum oxide then encased in polyurethane, flashed cured under UV lights. This increases the hardness of your laminate, making it more scratch and dent resistant. Another feature is it minimizes color change when exposed to sunlight, so if you like the high definition printed colors of your laminate rest assured your selection will remain that color. Only in a controlled robotic environment can this be achieved.
